VOTE NOVEMBER 3, 2026

A Better Hudson Valley For All

Here’s what I’m fighting for in Dutchess County:

Homes We Can Afford

What’s Been Accomplished

  • Secured $7 million for the County Housing Fund ✔

  • Recommended Inclusionary Zoning in the Town of Poughkeepsie ✔

  • Administrative Review Exploring the Possibility of Property Tax Cuts for 100% Disabled Veterans

What’s Next:

  • Dutchess County Housing Plan (Summer 2026) that will incentivize municipalities to take actionable steps to expand, preserve, and revitalize housing affordability in their communities.

  • Tax Incentives for ADUs (Summer 2026)

Trevor will continue to expand upon his record as volunteer Chair of the Citizen Committee on Housing Affordability (CCHA) and as Dutchess County Legislator to continue the progress started.

As Chair of the Town of Poughkeepsie Citizens Committee on Housing Affordability:

  • ADUs are now legal in the Town of Poughkeepsie, and $6 million in funding was secured towards the construction of ADUs.

  • Advocating for Good Cause Eviction legislation to protect tenants from unjust eviction and out-of-state bad actors.

  • Recommended the Town Board adopt Inclusionary Zoning to ensure future projects include affordable units for working families.

  • Recommended the Town Board tax private equity to discourage predatory practices in the town.

Education

Building Partnerships

When I was in High School, college was pushed as the only path to success, when in reality, there are numerous paths one can take after graduating high school. As your legislator, I am:

  • Encouraging schools to invest in the skilled trades classes.

  • Encouraging schools to expand financial literacy education.

  • Encouraging increased access to special education, occupational therapy, and mental health resources.

  • Ensuring the county invests in Dutchess Community College and BOCES, so that our youth can get the skills they need to take advantage of future opportunities.

Recently:

  • Toured Dutchess Community College

  • Advocating for workforce and career investment ✔

  • Building relationships with local colleges ✔

Transit, Infrastructure & Community Health

Our existing public transit system in Dutchess County is inefficient. To drive from Vassar College to Dutchess Community College in 11 minutes, but the bus takes 45 minutes or more, who would ever take the bus unless they had to? To have a thriving public transit system, it needs to be better than alternatives. I am:

  • Advocating for more frequent service to get places faster.

  • Fighting for more affordable ridership for all residents.

In addition, I live less than one mile from a grocery store. However, it would be extremely dangerous if I tried to walk or bike there. Sadly, several residents have been killed over the past year while riding a bike. I am:

  • Encouraging more pedestrian-friendly communities.

Active Work

Applied for grants for increase walkability and safety:

  • Fairview/Cedar intersection improvements (Application Results Pending)

  • Creek Road upgrades (Application Results Pending)

  • Working with NYS DOT on Salt Point Turnpike conditions

  • Cleared sections of the rail trail of snow for pedestrian access ✔

  • Launched Strong Towns Poughkeepsie advocating for real incremental progress in order to create safer and productive streets ✔

The Walkway Over the Hudson has led to increased quality of life and economic improvements in the Poughkeepsie area. The average Poughkeepsie resident is healthier because of it. When we invest in public infrastructure, it improves the lives of our residents, encourages economic development, and saves us money in healthcare spending.

Environment

Poughkeepsie ranks as one of the worst places for asthma because the pollution and harmful emissions can become trapped in the Hudson Valley. Furthermore, the Dutchess County garbage incinerator is a huge factor in local air pollution. In 2024, the legislature voted in favor of hiring a zero-waste consultant to conduct a solid waste study. I am:

  • Working with fellow legislators and the zero waste consultant to find a solution to ultimately phase out the incinerator and establish an economically viable way to deal with our waste.

In Progress

  • Grant application to preserve over 100 acres in the district forever (Grant Application Pending).

Small Businesses

I grew up in a family of small business owners and understand how hard it is to be one. If elected, I will support existing small business owners while also taking action to ensure legacy small businesses don’t end up in private equity hands. I am:

  • Educating future generations about entrepreneurship and small business at skilled trades fairs.

  • Connecting aspiring entrepreneurs to resources, mentorship, and paths to capital to fund their ideas.

  • Listening to our small business owners and taking action to protect them. Small businesses are the backbone of a stronger community. I want to live in a Poughkeepsie that has more moms and pops and less Amazon!

In Progress

  • Taking on unnecessary regulation in the waste hauling industry

  • Addressing “bad deals” that hurt local businesses and encouraged local monopolies ✔
